Impact Boxing Plays it Safe
Impact Community Boxing
Scott Lawton, two-time English lightweight champion, and @jacquioakespt with Sally and the newly installed HAJMT AED.
The dynamic duo own and run @teamimpactboxing in Stoke-on-Trent. Impact Community Boxking is located in a densely populated street, in a heavily populated neighbourhood which desperately needed an AED.
The application came to us from Gaz Taylor who volunteers his time, when not working full time as a warehouse manager, to helping troubled youth offenders who look to boxing to channel their anger management issues. Gaz was deeply moved by what happened to @chriseriksen8 during a Euro 2020 match— troubled by what he saw as a fit and healthy athlete in the prime of his life suffering a heart attack. He realised it could happen to anyone, at any age and decided to do something about it. He approached his local MP @jackbreretonmp, about how to find funding for an AED and thankfully, Brereton recommended HAJMT.
Besides providing boxing training and fitness to the public and young offenders, Impact Boxing also provides a safe space for those with learning disabilities and head injuries. This program is run by the incredibly inspiring pint-sized powerhouse, Jacqui, who has found her life’s work with helping those that have little other options to engage with the world. She gives them a place to exercise, socialise and to learn life skills at the same time. Busy Playing Fields Now Has Access to a HAJMT AED
Andrew Hingley-Smith and Jo Bradley-Johns are Trysull and Seisdon Parish Council Councillors in Staffordshire, approximately five miles south-west of Wolverhampton.Trysull Village Hall is one of the latest recipients of a HAJMT AED in 2021. Founded in 1951 the Playing Fields were created to provide permanent facilities for outdoor sport, including cricket and football along with a dedicated children’s playground.Today, the ground is filled with members of the Trysull Tigers football club and, when the season begins, the Trysull and Seisdon Cricket Club. During the week the park is used by the local primary school for all its outdoor activities as well as local dog walkers. Because of this, the HAJMT Trustees agreed it was a perfect position for an HAJMT AED as will be accessible by a lot of local people of all ages.

Generosity of Graftongate Utilises Local Phone Box
Colin is a Director of Graftongate and is pictured here with an HAJMT AED and Elaine Field, Chair of the Parish Council in Henley in Arden. Colin, along with Phil Silk and Henry Angell-James were co-founders of Graftongate, which is a commercial real-estate investor and developer, specialising in industrial and logistics developments. Graftongate has recently donated one of our AEDs to the local community to ensure that everyone in Henley in Arden has access to an AED. What better place than inside a phone box on the high street?
Graftongate is also committed to ensuring that our AEDs are included in all of it’s buildings. For each AED installed, Graftongate makes a donation to the HAJMT charity that in turn helps to buy more AEDs for those communities in need. A truly fabulous legacy for Henry.

High On A Hill For This HAJMT AED
Meet Year 1 and Year 2 of Clive CE Primary School and Nursery, Shropshire.
We are delighted to have recently donated one of our AEDs to the school whose core values are Respect, Responsibility & Resilience. The school is unique in many ways– not least because there is limited vehicular access, great because it means that all the children and staff get a walk to school every day. It is also safer as there are few, if any, vehicles near the school gate at drop off and home times.
However, its location also brings challenges. Clive CE Primary School and Nursery is situated halfway up Grinshill Hill— a popular place for walkers and bikers, even more so during lockdown. Needless to say, the trustees unanimously approved the application for a HAJMT AED to be installed at the school. A perfect and important location to serve those that live in the community and those that are are lucky enough to visit it.
